Have you ever wondered what it takes to operate a high-tech mobile disaster relief vehicle?
IEEE MOVE USA operates a fleet of specialized emergency response trucks that provide critical power, lighting, and communications support to communities and first responders during natural disasters. To keep our teams ready for deployment, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming May 2026 MOVE USA Operations Training, a dynamic, three-part virtual class open to our volunteers and anyone across the web interested in learning more about our life-saving program!
Whether you are a seasoned volunteer, an aspiring crew member, or simply a technology enthusiast curious about disaster response infrastructure, this series will give you a behind-the-scenes look at how we operate.
What to Expect in the Operations Class
This comprehensive course covers all the essentials of a MOVE truck deployment. Participants will gain a solid foundation in both the shared systems and the unique features of our three distinct emergency vehicles: MOVE-1, MOVE-2, and MOVE-3.
Key topics include:
- Deployment expectations and protocols
- Truck equipment and hardware overviews
- Essential safety procedures for disaster zones
