17 February 2021 – IEEE-USA’s MOVE team is continuing to supply supplying internet access to the Red Cross which allows them to conduct their business helping those impacted by the EF3 tornado. This service is critical to their operation.

Today teams are doing disaster assessment in order to evaluate the total extent of the damage. Mental health teams are also assisting the citizens directly impacted by this tragedy.

16 February 2021 – An EF-3 tornado last night caused extensive damage in Brunswick County near the South Carolina border and US-17. Responders are conducting house-to-house and wide-area searches. The county has activated a mass casualty plan. Volunteers Grayson Randall and Jay Diepenbrock departed this morning with IEEE-USA’s MOVE truck.

The Red Cross is headquartered at a church that has no internet. Within minutes of arriving the MOVE team established internet for the Red Cross to make reports and access data to help those in need. MOVE will be providing communications support for the next several days.
