Red Cross Home Fire Campaign Event: Fayetteville, NC

September 10, 2016 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Cumberland County – Smoke Alarm Rally

Seven times a day, someone dies in a home fire in the United States. Even more frequently, American Red Cross volunteers provide help to families who have lost their homes to devastating fires. It’s more important than ever that we all join together to save lives, reduce injuries and cut down on needless losses from home fires.

IEEE-USA MOVE is assisting the Red Cross again (see IEEE-USA MOVEs To Help Prevent Home Fires – May 2016) in this nationwide public initiative that aims to reduce fire-related fatalities in the U.S. by 25 percent within five years.

This is going to be the largest smoke alarm installation event in a single day across the country. The Red Cross is looking to install over 1,500 smoke alarms and need 500 volunteers to make this goal a success
